Camping at Fairview

Bryce called me a couple of days before we were planning on going camping up Fairview to see if he could buy a raft for fishing. I never tell him no!!! The boys loved the raft. Conner did really good I wasn't sure how he would do. I thought he would dive right in but he sat for the most part.

Troy and Brandon were fishing and Brandon was catching some tiny ones but he did catch a good size one. Bryce didn't fish because it was our first time out and we didn't know how the boys would do.

The boys had so much fun playing in the water. They didn't want to leave. They would splash me or each other. I am so glad that they get along so well.

Jared loves shooting his bb gun. He is getting really good at hitting the target too.

Conner of course doesn't want the shovels we brought for him he wants the big boy ones!!!
Saturday we went to Electric lake. We were on the lake for about a hour before it started storming. The lighting was really close to us. At one point it was less than a mile away. I was glad we were off the lake and in our truck.

Jared couldn't find any of his sweatshirts so he point one that was 12 months old. Yeah I think it is a little too small!!!
For fathers days we gave Bryce horse shoes. It was fun playing them. I am horrible at them.
My mom came up for a night. It was fun to have her there.
Jared was giving me the stink eye!!

We couldn't have a fire so Bryce bought a propane fire.
This is Jared being silly. We ate tons of yummy food while we were camping. I think we eat better camping than we do at home. We had tons of storms. We would watch movies in our trailer while it was raining. We were glad that our friends Brian and Tricia bought a trailer so they were able to come up with us. We were shocked that Troy's wife Teresa came up for a night. She hates camping. (So does my mom) We went on a couple of four wheeler rides. The trail we went on had a tree in the middle of it. Brian was pulling with his razer while Bryce was pushing with our fourwheeler. It wouldn't move so we had to go back. I am so glad that we were able to go up and enjoy everyone company. It is nice to have a great family and friends. I am very blessed.

July  26th-29th
5th trip, 14 days Bryce, Tasha, Jared, Conner, Grandpa, Grandmommy (1 day), Brian, Tricia, Troy, Brandon, Teresa (1 day).

Last Game

I wasn't able to make the last game because Conner was sick. Jared had fun playing T-ball. We will be having him play again next year.

Discovery Gateway

Cherri and Zander came out for a wedding so we met at Tucanos at the gateway. After we ate we went and played at Discovery again. Aubree took Conner with her to shop, we were hoping he would fall asleep but they ended up playing on the splash pad. I went to get him so he could play at the discovery place too. It was fun seeing Cherri and Zander I wish Trev and the other kids were able to make it. Jared really misses Kyler. It is too bad we don't live closer.

Funeral

I had an opportunity to attend an officers funeral today it was very emotional for me but the family did a great job. I will be adding pictures but I wanted to add a poem that was read that made me start to think.

The Dash

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of his friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning…to the end.
He noted that first came the date of her birth
and spoke of the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth…
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars…the house…the cash.
What matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard…
are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left.
That can still be rearranged
If we could just slow down enough
to consider what’s true and real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile…
remembering that this special dash
might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy’s being read
with your life’s actions to rehash…
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your dash?

Discovery Gateway and Spaghetti Factory

We went to spaghetti factory because I have free kids meals. I don't know why I bother getting Conner anything to eat he doesn't eat it. He is a very picky eater.

 Conner pretending to be asleep

These were Jared's favorite things to play with. He loved building a train with them.

We went to discovery gateway after my mom got off of work. It was really nice to have Aubree and my mom there to help with the boys. Conner loved the balls!!!
